Priyanka Chopra’s Quantico, season 3, opened as the lowest-rated and least-watched broadcast show in its timeslot

Priyanka Chopra made headlines when she returned with a bang for season 3 of her American television series, Quantico. The show, that’s a complete reboot from the previous two seasons, sees Alex Parish and her team travel across the globe, from Italy to Ireland, in search of their enemy. The makers, who had put in extra money and had home high hopes pinned on this new reboot, were disappointed after the show opened to lowest ratings on its premiere night. According to a report in Variety, Priyanka’s new season of Quantico opened as the lowest-rated and least-watched broadcast show in its time slot of 10:00 PM. Also Read: Priyanka Chopra spotted walking hand in hand with her Quantico co-star Russell Tovey on the streets of New York – view pics

Quantico drew a 0.5 rating in adults (18-49) and 2.8 million viewers which was down nearly 50% in the demo and over 20% in total viewers from the Season 2 premiere. The new season, that had many new entrants, was unsuccessful in making the viewers switch on to watch the crime thriller and even an intriguing plot and so much of promotions didn’t help it get a good opening rating. However, it’s expected that the show will pick up pace after good worth-of-mouth publicity, provided the content is really good. After the new ratings, CBS again topped the night with a 1.3 and 8 million viewers. Fox was second in the demo with a 1.1 but third in viewers with 3.8 million. ABC was third in the demo with a 1.0 but second in viewers with 4.8 million. NBC was fourth overall with a 0.6 and 3.1 million. The CW averaged a 0.4 and 1.2 million. While season 1 of Quantico was a huge success, the next season failed to receive similar opening and appreciation from critics and viewers alike. We even came across reports of how the show might go off air, leave aside the idea of coming up with the next season. The producers even shifted the entire shooting schedule to New York, thus curtailing costs by 30%. However, things eventually got sorted and Priyanka’s crime thriller got a new lease of life. The makers decided to splurge extra moolah on their crime fiction series with a motive to get it back on track and make it successful like the first season. However, things don’t look hunky dory for the actress and her team.
