With his latest film Jodi Breakers seeing him as a romantic hero for the second successive time, R Madhavan gets candid about co-star Bipasha Basu and being part of the most successful film in Bollywood history
R Madhavan has had a checkered career in Bollywood and a more successful one in Kollywood, so you would think that when one of his most successful Hindi films is remade into Tamil, he will jump on the chance to star in it. Instead, Madhavan surprised everyone and turned down Nanban – the official remake of 3 Idiots. Instead, he chose Jodi Breakers, which now everyone agrees is not inspired from any other film. Madhavan opted to play a divorce expert who realises that it is a lot of fun to be single. He even bonded big time with his co-star Bipasha Basu during the shoot. Here he talks about the risk he took by accepting Tanu Weds Manu, what draws him towards a particular film and why Bipasha is a co-star every actor dreams of having.
