Charu Khandal is part of the team that won the National Film Award for Best Special Effects for RA.One
The animator of Shahrukh Khan’s RA.One is battling for her life after a speeding car, with an allegedly drunk driver at the wheel, rammed into the autorickshaw in which she was travelling with her sister and a friend.
Charu Khandal, 26, suffered multiple fractures and injuries to her spinal cord in the accident early Sunday (March 25). Her sister Ritu was stable as she suffered minor injuries. Her friend Vikrant Goel also suffered injuries and is under observation at the hospital. Police said a black Honda City, allegedly being driven by a drunk driver, rammed into the rickshaw injuring the trio early Sunday at northwest Mumbai’s Oshiwara locality. The accused, Manoj Kumar, was arrested by the police for rash driving and driving in a drunken state. “He was, however, released on bail by a holiday court yesterday,” an official from Oshiwara Police Station told IANS today.
Charu is part of the team that won the National Film Award for Best Special Effects for the work they put in on RA.One. In fact, she and her friends were returning from a celebratory dinner when the accident took place.
