Superstar Rajesh Khanna was cremated in Mumbai today

Millions of fans caused a near stampede in Mumbai’s famous Bandra suburb the morning of July 18, as Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna was being carried in a casket to a crematorium. The actor’s family members were present, including wife Dimple Kapadia, daughter Rinke Khanna, sons-in-law Akshay Kumar and Sameer Saran and grandson Aarav. His daughter Twinkle Khanna was not present as she had been advised rest due to her pregnancy.

Another Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachchan, who credits a part of his success to Khanna – having starred with him in the much-acclaimed Anand – walked along with Khanna’s family and friends for the last rites. Son Abhishek Bachchan accompanied him. Directors Karan Johar and Sajid Khan were also present, along with some politico friends and colleagues of Khanna including Raj Babbar. I loved all his movies. His death was really a shock.
In one way it is good he died because he was going through alot of suffering.

I Salute you Mr. Khanna. I was your Fan. 25 years back I had spoken to you at your residence phone no. I still have the old no. with me. I liked your acting and your songs.You were my favourite Hero at that time. When I heard about your sickness I felt very bad, God has taken you away because he did not want you to suffer. If the film industry really wants to pay their respect to KAKA it would be possible if a film is produced on his entire life and is shown on all channels. Further in the Awards ceremonies a award should be introduced for Best romantic star of the year.

KAKA was the only superstar who saw the stardom and fan following which no other actor had, has and shall see. The real superstar. Me at the age of 51 has always been a great fan of KAKA and to my memory have seen almost all his films. Many of them repeatedly so many times I dont remember. Even today when I watch TV and any of his films is being telecast I leave all other programs. I would even watch the ads in between so that I do not miss a single dialogue. My heart felt condolences. He shall never die in my memories.

as a college student i was so eager to see his movie ARADHANA AND WHE WE FRIENDS WENT TO THE THEATRE IN SPITE OF BOMB BURST IN CALCUTTA IN 1973.mY HATS OFF TO HIM.

whn i was 13yrs old(1978)i met him with my parent at dharmenderji residence in mumbai…….they both are ready to go premier of Rajput film but they devote his time 4 us……..rajeshji inwhite safari suit,&dharmenderji in dhoti kurta in dark brown colour in panjabi style ………..v all r upset now….lost gud actor & nice person..may god give peace rajeshji soul…………. god bless his family…….
