First trailer of Rajjo starring Kangna Ranaut

Going by the first trailer of Ms Ranaut’s much-talked about film Rajjo, it looks like we are back in the ‘80s. While we aren’t highly impressed with the trailer, wethinks pahadi kudi looks beautiful as always!

Kangna Ranaut will be seen playing a nautch girl in Vishwas Patil’s Rajjo which is about the dying business of mujra houses. The trailer starts with a song and you see the Krrish 3 babe showing off her thumkas and latkas. There is Mahesh Manjrekar who plays a eunuch in the film and the filmmaker seems to have pulled of the look successfully. In quite a few scenes, Kangna reminded us of her Tanu Weds Manu character – bold, beautiful and fearless. This is what Kangs is in real life too and hence we get to see it in every character she plays, we guess. While the makers of Rajjo have splurged a whopping Rs 5 crore on creating the sets, the trailer takes you back to the ‘80s films – atyachar on the abla naari and how she fights back types. Watch the video and you’ll know. Since the movie is about mujra houses, it obvious there would loads of naach gaana and that’s what you get in the trailer as well. But even the songs have the ‘80s feel and are quite thanda. As far as Kangs mujra acts are concerned, we certainly think she hasn’t perfected the kala. The film also stars Prakash Raj and we see him in the avatar which isn’t new to him or us.

All in all, the first trailer of Rajjo is disappointing. While Kangna has always taken up bold roles and done justice with them, we aren’t sure if that would be the case with Rajjo too!

I do not agree with review. Mujra house are about “atyachar on the abla naari”, mujrawalli do not dance to get some sort of recognisition, it is an atyachar on them. In Indian outskirt life is still same as in 80′s or 70′s
