Rakesh Sawant is embroiled in the Laila Khan case

Rakhi Sawant’s brother Rakesh has been questioned by the Anti Terrorism Squad officers investigating the case of Laila Khan’s disappearance. The grilling reportedly happened on Monday (June 11) and lasted six hours. Laila, the starlet who starred in Wafaa with Rajesh Khanna, vanished in February last year and the ATS has been trying to find out whether she had links to terrorist organisations. Rakesh was questioned as he had announced a collaboration with Laila to make a film titled Jinnat. There is the possibility that Rakesh had met the people responsible for Laila’s disappearance.

Sawant was scheduled to be questioned a few days ago, but refused to cooperate at the time, saying that he had to complete the last rites of his recently deceased father. However, he did meet mediapersons outside the ATS office and claimed that he had already spoken to the authorities. Rakesh’s delaying tactics didn’t give him much leeway, as he had to return to the office and speak to the cops anyway. For Rakhi’s sake, we hope it all gets sorted out.
