“Turkey is a place where my grandfather (Raj Kapoor) has a great following even today. To see my film getting a wide theatrical release in the same country is a huge compliment. I am very excited about this,” said Ranbir, who bagged best actor trophies at Filmfare, Screen, Zee Cine, Apsara Producer’s Guild awards for playing Barfi!.

Continuing its endeavour to open new international markets for Indian cinema, UTV is said to be the first Indian studio to enter Turkey on this scale with Barfi! Its surprising that India has no idea how big turkish movie and tv industry is!! they are a craze in arab and european wolrd and give bollywood a tough competition as they have better looking actors who can actually act and sing as well. Turkish and Indian collaboration was expected as Turkish tv shows and actors bring in alot of money.Turkish Tv serials are the best in the world and are watched dubbed in more than 40 countries.
‘Fatmagulun sucu ne’ lead actor Engin Akyurek and Beren saat are superdooper stars and thier tv shows are just like bollywood movies. The turkish tv shows should also be shown in India dubbed in hindi so a proper 2 way exchange of culture takes place! This one way trade seems like a bad idea.
we would love to see Engin Akyurek in a bollywood movie as much as we would love to see ranbir in an episode of turkish tv serial! shame the indians have no idea what good entertainment is as once they see turkish shows and movies they will be addicted and forget everything else!.
and the movies like ‘aashiqui2′ would be a huge hit in Turkey and not ‘Barfi’ as if you see thier tv series you would see they like this type of movie which is why Engin Akyurek is also very popular and huge star as they like romance alot.
