The Besharam actor turns 31 this year
Born on September 28, 1982, Ranbir Kapoor belongs to the first film family of Bollywood. Son of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor and grandson of Raj Kapoor, Ranboo as he is fondly called, made his Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya opposite Sonam Kapoor in 2007. Though his first film tanked at the box office, his Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba delivered the much needed hit. After this film, there was no looking back for the Kapoor lad.
2009 was a path-breaking year for Ranbir. During this year, Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year released and all of them won a lot of accolades and also proved his capability as an actor. After these three films, Ranbir played a pivotal role in Prakash Jha’s political suspense Raajneeti. Though it was a multi-starrer, the Kapoor lad’s work did not go unnoticed. After this, the Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar and Anurag Basu’s Barfi! earned a lot of critical appreciation. He then reunited with his Wake Up Sid director Ayan Mukerji and delivered the successful Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani earlier this year which also had Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin. In the last few years, RK has won several awards for his performances at various award functions.
His upcoming releases include Besharam that will release on October 2. After Besharam, Ranbir has Roy, Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet and Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jassos.
