The Besharam actor’s attire in the Indian Premier League’s new commercial is inspired by Baadshah Khan’s look from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Ranbir Kapoor loves to experiment with his roles and looks – be it in films or television commercials. But we wonder what made him sport a look that’s noticeably so similar to that of Shahrukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi! Last year, one of the most admired youngest actors of B-town, Ranbir was seen as a bald and be-spectacled old man in a mobile network service provider commercial. And this year, the Kapoor scion’s new Pepsi campaign for Indian Premier League 6 (IPL 6) will feature him as a middle-class guy sporting a dull white shirt with a pen in his pocket, oily hair and a moustache much similar to King Khan’s character Surinder Suri in the Yash Raj movie.
“It’s not the usual, casual and trendy look that I get to sport in Pepsi campaigns or in most of my films. In the new ad film, I play a simple man who likes to dress conservatively but is passionate about cricket, India and IPL. You can call it my de-glam look,” Ranbir said. Hmm… we hope SRK doesn’t have any issues with Ranbir’s look. The new commercial will go live on April 3 – the first day of the IPL. Make sure you catch it!
