Ekta Kapoor has bagged the rights to make a film on the controversial life of the cricketer
With two biopics on a sports personality underway – Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (on athlete Milkha Singh) and Mary Kom (on the champion boxer) – producer EKta Kapoor has now bought the rights to make a movie on the life of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin.
A newspaper has reported that Ekta has signed a contract with Azhar a couple of days ago, after several meetings and discussions over the last few months. News also is that Ekta has Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Saif Ali Khan on her wish list to essay the role of the controversial cricketer. Wethinks Saif’s personality is a lot more suited to play the role of Azhar, but age is on Ranbir and Ranveer’s side as the movie will show a major part of Azhar’s younger days. There is no confirmation from the producer yet, but we hear that the work on the film is slated to begin by end of this year.
