The ecstatic Kapoors trio not just promoted their upcoming quirky comedy in New York but also celebrated Diwali with their NRI fans
The people of New York city, especially the Indians, wouldn’t have celebrated Diwali the way they did this year with the respected Kapoor family – Ranbir, Rishi, Neetu and Pallavi Sharda who visited Times Square to promote their film Besharam directed by Abhinav Kashyap. Minister of Public Works & Special Assistance Department, Chhagan Bhujbal was also present.
While apna chikna Ranboo was dressed in a black Jodhpuri, his co-star Pallavi sported a lehenga. The veteran actors Rishi and Neetu looked super excited to join in the festivities and support their son and Pallavi. It’s learnt that a musical extravaganza ‘Diwali at Times Square’ was held at the Times Square that showcased traditional Indian dances and music composed by Shankar Mahadevan. Times Square was bustling with activity as people dressed in traditional outfits lined up to enjoy Indian cuisine, music and fashion and of course watch a glimpse of their favourite actors.
Later, the Kapoor trio danced to popular songs from their movies, enthralling the audience with their performance. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) Managing Director, Jagdish Patel informed that the event was an opportunity to bring one of the most important and vibrant Indian festivals to New York.
