The Barfi! actor has been chosen to be the desi equivalent of Hollywood star Robert Pattinson. But is it the right choice?

A couple of years ago, fierce comparisons between Imran Khan and Robert Pattinson floated around. The similarities between our B-town hunk and the British actor made everyone believe that if (ever) Twilight makes a desi debut, the Delhi Belly actor will definitely be the chosen one. But guess the makers definitely didn’t think so!

Now, the cult Hollywood movie is all set to be made in Hindi. And it’s our very own Rockstar – Ranbir Kapoor who has been chosen to play the role of a sexy vampire!!

The Indian remake of Twilight is said to be a funky feature – a rumoured amalgamation of Wake Up Sid and Twilight which will be produced by Siddharth Jain and directed by Heeraz Marfatia. And like its foreign counterpart, this one will also revolve around fun-loving youngsters and a teenaged love-story.

But is Ranbir the right choice? No doubt the Kapoor kid has some fabulous performances to his credit. The dude stole our dils with his performance as a heartbroken, serious-to-the-core kinda guy in Rockstar. And we even applauded for his role in Rajneeti. But then can we really be sure of his skills when it comes to ‘fun’ movies? Remember the disastrous Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani – a movie that actually turned out to be very ajeeb? Well, we certainly shudder at the thought of another ghazab kahani.

So, tell us dear readers – do you think Ranbir will snugly fit into the character of Edward? Or do you think he will…er…suck?
