Rani Mukerji to save a girl child in Mardaani?

The feisty actor will don the Khaki in her next and rescue a girl child from the dark world of human trafficking!

Rani Mukerji’s character in her next film, Mardaani, is apparently based on a real- life lady police officer from Mumbai crime branch, who solved several child trafficking cases in the city.

ATS chief Himanshu Roy in a statement confirmed the news, but refused to reveal the name of the officer Rani will play on the big screen. “ Rani approached us when she was preparing for her role. She wanted to play it realistically and we have just helped her do that, ‘ said Roy.

We hear that Rani was keen to know details about the challenges faced by cops and the lifestyle we lead. So we put her in touch with two lady officers from the crime branch. The 36-year-old actor then spent some time with them to get a better idea about the lives of lady cops.

More details could not be fetched since the cast and crew of the film have signed a non- disclosure clause with the production house.

We are certainly waiting to see how Rani uses her kicks to get some serious work done in Mardaani, aren’t you?
