The Band Baaja Baaraat actor has made a lot of noise about his own worth as a star. Now comes the time for him to prove it. Will he?
Amidst all the RA.One hoopla, other films still do exist. No, we’re not referring to Tell Me O Kkhuda or Damadamm (who? what?). We are talking about the Band Baaja Baaraat team’s next outing – the keenly awaited Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl. The film will prove whether Ranveer Singh was a flash in the pan or whether he’s here to stay. The film will enjoy its world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival in December, prior to its India release. Dorothee Wenner, Consultant for the Subcontinent Programme, Dubai International Film Festival, says, “The premiere of Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl is a scoop for DIFF, and will appeal not just to the expatriate community but also to Arabs who have a strong affinity for Bollywood films.” According to Nelson D’Souza, head of operations, Middle East & North Africa, Yash Raj Films, “Yash Raj Films is synonymous with films that have connected across generations through the last four decades. We are delighted to continue our long-standing association with the Dubai International Film Festival, which has previously hosted the star-studded world premieres of Yash Raj films including Kabul Express and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year. Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl follows the success of our earlier release Band Baaja Baaraat, and is a quintessential Yash Raj Films family entertainer.” But is Ranveer the quintessential Bollywood actor-star who will last? We wait to find out….
