The filmmaker enters the online arena with Bappi Lahiri and Jazzy B’s Holi song
Not a lot of people know that Anubhav Sinha, the man whom Shahrukh Khan trusted with his Rs 150 crore film RA.One, was heavily into music before he turned filmmaker.
The director – in an earlier lifetime – was the one responsible for making some of the most famous music videos of singers like Sonu Nigam, Daler Mehndi and the late Jagjit Singh. And now it seems he can’t wait to get back to music! The director has decided to launch his own YouTube channel named after his production house Benaras Mediaworks, and his first project will be the launch of a Holi song sung by Bappi Lahiri and Jazzy B.
Anubhav shared his connection with music and why he thought dabbling with it was a good idea. “I still love making music. I continue to do so for the films that I produce and direct. Probably the appetite was more that I chose to start making some non-film music too. Needed a platform to showcase all of this and what better idea than a YouTube channel!” said Anubhav.
As far as this Holi song goes, Anubhav seems quite gung-ho about it, and he has directed the video himself. “I wanted to direct a fun song and Holi being round the corner, I thought of coming up with a golden collaboration featuring Bappi Lahiri and Jazzy B. You have to watch the video to see the lethal combination of Jazzy and Baapi da apart from the fabulous music given by the talented Toshi and Sharib,” said the filmmaker who plans to work with both new and established artistes from various genres so as to create and discover some great music along the way! Good idea, no?
