Remembering Jagjit Singh: A tribute to the ghazal maestro

India’s ghazal king, Jagjit Singh, who passed away at the age of 70, has left behind a treasure of heart-touching songs

Jagjit Singh’s unique voice fit the romance and the pathos required for ghazal singing perfectly. After working on independent music albums for some years, he got the chance to sing for films. He went on to sing many memorable ghazals written by Gulzar in the ’80s. Here are the top 5 film songs by the maestro:
