Anurag Kashyap has decided to include musician Remo Fernandes in the already star studded cast of his upcoming, Bombay Velvet!
Remo, known for his hit songs like Humma (Bombay) and Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha from the ‘90s and the most recent, Maria Pitache (David) is all set to make his acting debut in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet at 60. An industry insider chirps in, saying, “Remo was finalised only a few days ago. He will play a Portuguese musician in the film. Although it’s not a very big part, it is quite interesting.”
Apparently, the filmmakers were looking for someone who could speak Portuguese fluently. Looks like the role was tailor-made for Remo, as he’s not only well-versed with Portuguese but is also a musician! It’s from real to reel for Remo! We hear that Remo will soon be flying to Sri Lanka, where the cast and crew, including Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar are shooting at the moment.
In Bombay Velvet, we will not only witness Remo’s acting debut, but many other firsts! The lead pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma will share screen space for the first time. Also, RK will be trying his luck with action in this Hindi thriller, another first. Karan Johar will be seen in a full-fledged role for the first time. KJo will be playing a baddie (and that too, a gay villain) for the first time!
