The proud producer of Balak Palak and the charming director of English Vinglish bag awards for their incredible cinematic endeavours
Gauri Shinde and Riteish Deshmmukh gave us two wonderful films of the year. If Shinde’s widely appreciated film English Vinglish– starring Sridevi in the lead-reiterated that female centric dramas can do equally well in our male driven entertainment industry, Deshmukh’s much-talked about Marathi production Balak Palak was a hilarious take on sex education in India.
Both English Vinglish and Balak Palak received critical appreciation and tremendous response from the audiences. These two film continue to bag awards, adulation and appreciation. At the recently held Zee Gaurav awards 2013 Gauri Shinde received the special Gaurav Puraskar Marathi Paul Padate Pudhe for her grand entry into Bollywood. Balak Palak too received as many as seven awards in different categories at the do. Mahesh Manjarekar’s Marathi directorial venture Kakasparsh bagged the versatile actor Sachin Khedekar the best actor award and Priya Bapat bagged the best actress trophy for her scintillating performance in the same film. Zee Gaurav will be telecast on Zee Marathi on March 31, 2013.
