Riteish Deshmukh REACTS to Banjo’s comparison with Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar and it’s amusing – watch video

Riteish Deshmukh’s Banjo has released today and the actor went all out for the promotions. The trailer and the songs of the film are interesting and the concept is unique. But we are sure looking at Riteish’ s look for once everyone must have compared him to Ranbir Kapoor’s from Rockstar and wonder if there is any similarities between the films. But let us make it very clear that Banjo has nothing to do with RK’s Rockstar. Yes the film is based on a life of a singer but the outline and story telling is entirely different. And as Riteish puts it, “Every romantic film is not DDLJ (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge)”.

When Bollywoodlife.com met Riteish and asked him about the comparisons, he explained, “I have heard about all the comparisons, but every romantic film is not DDLJ, Tanu Weds Manu or Jab We Met. Every one has their way of storytelling. Yes the concept is kinda same, but the story entirely is different and the journey of my character has different challenges. Ranbir’s journey in Rockstar was totally different. Yes there is one fact that we have Nargis Fakhri in both the films”. The actor even confessed that he enjoyed working in the film and being tapori (roadside romeo) was interesting. Well we must say the entire look and diction totally suited him. Right?

Banjo is directed by National Award winner Ravi Jadhav. The filmmaker has made his mark in Marathi cinema with films like Natarang and Time Pass. TP was the Marathi film which did phenomenally well at the box office too. The film also stars firang beauty Nargis Fakhri who was in the news for her breakup with Uday Chopra. Also there was a strong buzz that she left Bollywood forever, which is clearly baseless, as she will be seen next in Banjo. However we didn’t spot her at the promotions today coz she left for USA to fulfill her other work commitments. BollywoodLifers tell us how much you agree with the actor’s statement on Banjo’s comparison with Rockstar.
