For long now, the Grand Masti actor has associated himself with Bollywood’s masla comedies. However, it seems that, on wife Genelia D’Souza’s insistence the Humshakals actor chose to play a grey character in Mohit Suri’s film
Not only did Riteish Deshmukh‘s villainous avatar in Ek Villain steal the thunder from his co-stars Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor, but it looks like the actor has surpassed his own appearances on the silver screen. In a recent poll conducted by BollywoodLife, we asked the Lai Bhaari actor‘s fans to choose between his comic appearances and the new makeover as a Bollywood baddie and it seems that the actor’s latter appearance has more fans. In the poll that we conducted, Riteish as a baddie in Ek Villain bagged 55 percent of the votes, while Riteish as a comedian won 45 percent of the votes.
Looks like this year the actor is living up to the saying ‘variety is the spice of life’, by experimenting with his filmi projects, be it a stereotypical comedy like Humshakals, a grey role like Ek Villain or then the macho rowdy hero in his Marathi debut Lai Bhaari. And with him having replaced Kapil Sharma in Yash Raj’s Bank Chor, we just cannot wait to find out what his next role is all about. We hope RD surprises us this time around too.
