As the Sholay director is all set to celebrate his 66th birthday, his son is planning to release the first look of his forthcoming release Nautanki Saala on the same day. He also intends to get the two lead actors of the film to enact the famous gaon walon scene from the 1975 blockbuster
Director Ramesh Sippy is all set celebrate his 66th birthday on January 23, and his son Rohan Sippy has some crazy plans on this memorable day. Rohan is planning a grand birthday bash where he’ll be celebrating the day with a tribute to his dad’s legendary film Sholay (1975), followed by the first look of his forthcoming venture Nautanki Saala.
“There couldn’t be a better way to kick off Nautanki Saala. We will celebrate dad’s birthday with the first promo launch, since the title of my film is a line from Sholay. Bhushan (Kumar, the producer) and I wanted to do something special for him on his birthday. In fact, when I told dad, he was glad as he started his career with Andaaz (1971) on his birthday as well. It’s a lovely way to celebrate the special day and his years in cinema with a film-related event, which is his home turf,” said Rohan in an interview to a daily.
What’s even more exciting is that the event will have actors Kunal Roy Kapur and Ayushmann Khurrana (the lead pair of Nautanki Saala) perform an act based on the famous gaon walon scene from Sholay, where Dharamendra’s character climbs on a water tank and threatens to commit suicide. We think it is a super cool idea indeed where Sippy will be paying tribute to his dad and also promote his forthcoming movie too. Smart, no?
