Vikramaditya Motwane’s Udaan has won enough awards to make Ronit Roy think seriously about working in more films.
At an annual awards ceremony, Vikramaditya Motwane’s Udaan presented stiff competition to many big budget films and won four awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Child Actor and Best Actor in a Negative Role! But perhaps the best reward of all went to the last awardee, Ronit Roy. Not many people know this: the popular television actor was offered this role of a lifetime by Anurag Kashyap in the lift of the building they both stay in, a birdie told us. Though Ronit is a big name on the small screen, celluloid success had evaded him. Udaan managed to change that; and now he is all set to take the big screen by storm. Expressing his gratitude on Twitter, he said, “Thanks to you all so much for your love and good wishes”. Industry insiders say that despite the success of Udaan, Ronit should stick to the small screen, because in mainstream Bollywood films he will only get character roles. If the character can win him the prizes, why not, right Ronit!
