While tongues might wag about Bebo not converting to Islam and the shaadi not being one recognised by the maulvis, here’s a sneak peek at how the couple sealed their combined fate

Yes, there was buzz about Kareena Kapoor wearing her saasu-ma’s traditional lehenga – one that Sharmila Tagore wore during her wedding on December 27, 1969 to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. But nothing prepared us for the real moment when Bebo, looking like a perfect royal bride stepped on to the stage with groom Saif Ali Khan, who looked regal in his achkan designed by Raghavendra Rathore.

Now doesn’t that look like a perfect setting for a nikaah? Well, it wasn’t. And that’s because the duo went ahead and took vows, Christian style, as suggested by Bebo’s mom Babita, who is a practicing Christian. Talk about being different! But we fail to understand why so much fuss was made about this seemingly awwwsome ceremony. So what if the shaadi didn’t stick to a certain rule-book? In the end, it’s the man and his wife who have pledged their companionship for a lifetime that matters, right?
