Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan to promote Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi movie Kokanastha

The makers have roped in the two B-town superstars along with political bigwig Raj Thackeray for the film’s promotion

That Salman Khan and Mahesh Manjrekar are close buddies is common knowledge. The two actors who shared the screen space in Prabhu Deva’s Wanted jelled instantly on the sets of the movie and became good friends! Both Sallu and Mahesh tried to cash in on the success of Wanted and their newfound friendship and went on to do films like Dabangg and Ready. Now, Khan and Manjrekar have almost become chuddy-buddies! So when we heard that the Being Human actor has agreed to promote Mahesh’s upcoming Marathi film, Kokanastha, we were like hmmm-okay!

Manjrekar’s film, slated to release this week, is about a retired middle-class man (played by his favourite, Sachin Khedekar) whose peaceful life is thrown into turmoil by an unexpected turn of events and his consequent fight for justice. Along with the Mental star, the makers have also approached the Shahenshah of Bollywood – Amitabh Bachchan and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief – Raj Thackeray for the film’s promotion and the two have agreed too.

This has been a good year for Manjrekar. He was an integral part of two big banner films – Himmatwala and the recently released Shootout At Wadala and a Marathi movie, Aajcha Divas Majha. Considering that the actor-director is known for his hard-hitting Marathi movies like Mee Shivajiraje Bhosle Boltoy, Kaksparsh, Lalbaug Paral among others, we are sure his latest offering will definitely be worth a watch!
