Salman Khan clears the air about ‘Kick’-ing out Shirish Kunder

Superstar Salman Khan confirms the news on Twitter about Shirish Kunder not directing Sajid Nadiadwala’s film Kick but insists that he was not responsible for it

Even before Shirish Kunder’s film Joker opened to universally poor reviews, it was rumoured that the director may have lost out on the big budget Salman Khan-starrer Kick. Now the Bodyguard star has come forward and confirmed this on Twitter. But the actor also clarifies that he was not responsible for Shirish leaving the project.

Just an hour ago Salman tweeted, “No that’s nt true . shirish left the film . He is working on sm thing else . Ho gaya clear ? Good ! Challo bye . Take care guys n nice.” (sic). Earlier too, Shirish had an idea that he may be ousted from the Sajid Nadiadwala production. The director had said on Twitter, “All queries on KICK should be checked with Producer Sajid Nadiadwala as he is the main person developing the project and knows all the truth.” Later Shrish revealed that producer Sajid Nadiadwala may be directing the film instead of him.

It is not clear if it was a rift between Shirish and Salman that was responsible for the former being booted, or whether there was just a general loss of confidence by the makers of Kick in Shirish’s abilities as a director after the debacle that Joker turned out to be. Whatever the case, Joker has proved to be quite an expensive film for Shirish. While Nadiadwala may just go ahead and direct what could prove to be his debut film!
