After Kareena Kapoor Khan and Hrithik Roshan bowed out of the much awaited Shuddhi that was to bring together the ex-lovers on screen after almost a decade, KJo has finally found his hero
Salman Khan and not Shahrukh Khan will be the hero in Karan Johar’s Shuddhi. For long now there have been hush-hush talks of how Shahrukh Khan would step into Hrithik Roshan’s shoes as the hero in Karan Malhotra’s delayed directorial venture. Everybody from Ranbir Kapoor to Ranveer Singh and SRK were approached to play the lead role, however each one bowed out. It was said that SRK’s no show on Karan’s Koffee With Karan 4 had caused a divide between the two friends and hence his chances of signing the dotted line was very slim.
Ranbir has a busy year ahead with Imtiaz Ali film opposite ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone, Jagga Jasoos with Katrina Kaif and Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet. We also hear that RK Jr will be working on a Sanjay Dutt biopic with Rajkumar Hirani. Ranveer on the other hand chose to romance his alleged lover Deepika in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. With Hrithik having backed out at the nth minute, Sallu’s entry must have come as a much needed relief for Karan.
With Sallu having signed his first full-fledged Karan Johar film as a lead actor (except for a special role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai earlier), looks like Karan and SRK’s dosti has indeed gone kaput. Looks like the former friends are no longer seeing eye-to-eye. There was also buzz that the actor was mighty upset with Dharma head honcho for choosing enemy Sallu for the opening episode of his chat show.
Else is this just the beginning of the Khan duo’s patch up? Does Karan have his best buddy SRK’s approval? Well, we hope that it’s not just the beginning of Karan-Sallu collaboration on silver screen, but also the end of Salman–SRK chemistry, right BollywoodLifers?
