Ready and Rockstar will now release a month apart. They were earlier slated to hit the halls on the same date
Katrina Kaif can heave a sigh of relief. There will be no onscreen clash between her ‘good friends’ Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor…not this time anyway. Sallu’s Ready and Ranbir’s Rockstar will now release a month apart. The two films had earlier been slated to hit the big screen on May 27 and had generated a lot of B-Town buzz on which team will blink and change the date. Though initially neither was willing to bat an eyelash, now both have done so. In a quiet move, the powers-that-be behind both the films have decided that ensuring they don’t eat into each other’s business is more important than trying to cash in on the rivalry-over-Katrina factor. Ready will now release on June 3, while Rockstar has been pushed to July 8. This will also build a two month gap between Ready and its director Anees Bazmee’s other release, Thank You, which was a dud at the BO. Meanwhile, Rockstar director Imtiaz Ali’s last flick Love Aaj Kal did good business, but Ranbir has been lying low after Anjaana Anjaani flopped. For once, good business sense has prevailed over ego. Whew!
