The Munnabhai actor, who’s serving his three-and-half year sentence in Pune’s Yerawada jail, wants his upcoming film to join the coveted Rs 100 crore club

Sanjay Dutt’s Policegiri will hit the screens on July 5, a month from now. The convicted actor is currently lodged at Pune’s Yerawada jail in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, but he’s quite excited that his film’s promo has been garnering good buzz in the industry and with his fans. Why not, the 53-year-old actor has done so much of dialogue baazi and gravity-defying stunts in this out-and-out action flick after all!

While expressing his sadness that Sanjay won’t be there during Policegiri‘s release, director KS Ravikumar said that his lead protagonist would want the film to do business of nothing less than Rs 100 crore! According to the South filmmaker, Sanjay is happy with the way the film has shaped up and he said he will be happier if it touches Rs 100 crore.

Praising Sanjay for his acting skills, the filmmaker said, “Sanjay is a superb performer. Considering his court judgment and hearing, he was jolly on the sets and very much into his character. He used to give the shot in one take. He is a director’s actor.”

Policegiri, which is a remake of the South hit Saamy, will see Sanjay playing a police officer and Prachi Desai as his love interest. We hope the movie grosses Rs 100 crore not for anything else but just for Sanju baba… at least that will bring the much-needed smile on his face, right peeps?Subscribe to me on YouTube
