The Munnabhai actor’s sister and wife visited him in jail just two days after he surrendered before TADA court on May 16
Sanjay Dutt’s concerned sister Priya Dutt and wife Manyata breathed a sigh of relief after Sanju was shifted from the anda (egg shaped) cell to another cell upon an oral application by his lawyer to the TADA court. The Policegiri actor reportedly felt suffocated in the anda cell, which previously housed Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab.
After surrendering, Dutt was allowed to carry the Bhagavad Gita, Hanuman Chalisa and Ramayana with him. The court also permitted him home cooked food, medicines, a pillow, a mattress and toiletries. But since he was sent to the Arthur Road Jail cell that holds terrorists and other dreaded criminals, the 53-year-old actor read some spiritual books he brought along with him.
Sanju baba, who was concerned about his health in the prison setting, has been granted certain allowances by the court including home cooked food to keep his diet in check. Priya and Maanyata were allowed to enter the jail amidst media and high security.
