The ace dance master spoke exclusively to BollywoodLife about the recognition she got from the NCC Lieutenant General for her contribution to Indian cinema

Saroj Khan’s contribution to Bollywood is immense. The ace dance guru was felicitated recently for her amazing choreography that has made Bollywood songs vibrant and spectacular. The 64-year-old veteran dancer, who has made A-list celebs – from Rekha to Madhuri Dixit Nene and from Sridevi to Shahrukh Khan – shake a leg at her command, was recently honoured with a special recognition from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Lieutenant General BS Bhalla at an event in Delhi. “I was first taken to Delhi and from there to Agra to attend the function. I was touched by this gesture. I have dedicated my life to dancing and it was an honour to be felicitated by the NCC chief. I was privileged to have received the recognition,” said Saroj Khan.

So did the celebrity choreographer’s presence make the do more interesting and did Saroj Khan teach them a magical dance step or two? “Oh they reminded me of all my dance numbers and I could not believe their interest in Bollywood music and dance. I was surprised when I was told that some of the NCC officer’s children are or have been my students. It feels good when Bollywood films or dance sequences make such a strong connect. The entire experience left me speechless. It feels good to have been acknowledged for something you have dedicated your life to with so much passion and love,” added the Any Body Can Dance star.

We at BollywoodLife salute the legendary choreographer for giving us those innumerable dance numbers which will always be cherished!
