Hollywood director Paul Feig has praised superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt’s performance in their recently released “Dear Zindagi”. The 54-year-old filmmaker, who has helmed hit films like “Bridesmaids”, “Ghostbusters” and “The Heat” congratulated both actors and also film’s director Gauri Shinde by calling her “an amazing writer”. “Huge congrats to @iamsrk and @aliaa08 on your wonderful performances in #DearZindagi. @gauris, you are an amazing writer/director. Bravo,” he wrote.
Shah Rukh, also Feig’s good friend, thanked him for the post. “Hi my friend @paulfeig didn’t reply sooner because wanted to catch up GB2 (Ghostbusters 2). Too funny. Thanks for the movies,” he tweeted. Similarly, Alia expressed her excitement by tweeting, “Wohoooooo I’m over the moon and how!!!! Thank you soo much.” While Shinde posted, “Thankyou so much. Means a lot.” Feig’s wife Laurie Karon is a “Bollywood fanatic” and a big fan of Shah Rukh.
Dear Zindagi is released last Friday and the film seems to hve lived upto its hype. For all crazy fans who have been waiting to see Alia and SRK on the big screen together, their wait is finally over. If critics are to be taken into consideration, the film has got mixed reviews. If you are someone who is planning to watch Dear Zindagi for SRK, let me tell you, it’s an all and out Alia Bhatt film. The film rides on the shoulders of Alia.. no, seriously! Shah Rukh only plays a cameo in the film. Within six days of its release, Dear Zindagi has managed to collect Rs 44 crore at the box office. As Taran Adarsh revealed about the detailed collections in his tweet, “#DearZindagi Fri 8.75 cr, Sat 11.25 cr, Sun 12.50 cr, Mon 4.25 cr, Tue 4 cr, Wed 3.25 cr. Total: Rs 44 cr.
