Shahid Kapoor bags lead in the Hindi remake of ‘Vettai’?

The makers of Vettai approach Shahid for the Hindi version of the hit Tamil film

Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn have tasted humongous success by working in the remake of hit south films and Shahid Kapoor is all set to follow suit. The makers of the blockbuster film Vettai have approached the Mausam actor to play the lead role originally essayed by R Madhavan. Directed by N Linguswamy, the Tamil flick is a light-hearted mass entertainer which revolves around two brothers and two sisters played by Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul.

After achieving fabulous response down south the director is now planning to make the same film in Hindi. Maddy was the first choice to reprise his role in Hindi as well but the Tanu Weds Manu actor was not keen to repeat himself. The production house UTV motion pictures then approached Sasha. The actor’s association with UTV has delivered good results in the past and if the 30-year-old signs this film it would mark it as his first Hindi remake of a south film. After facing a dry run at the box office with Mausam this could be a golden opportunity for the actor to boost his filmography or not.
