Shahid Kapoor replaced by Ali Zafar in ‘Vettai’ remake?

The Teri Meri Kahaani actor’s forced vacation might continue, rumours suggest

Last heard, Shahid Kapoor’s plate was partially-full with the Hindi remake of Tamil movie, Vettai. We even heard that the project was all set to go on floors by June this year. In this movie Ali Zafar was to play the second lead.

But then came a minor glitch. The Mausam actor was concerned about the dialogue writer of this remake and had requested the makers to rope in a good Hindi dialogue writer for the same. Talking about this issue, director Linguswamy said, “I cannot communicate in Hindi. And the dialogues were not being translated properly. That was the main problem. Now my producers of  UTV is hiring a dialogue writer of their choice. That writer will be getting together with the Tamil dialogue writer of Vettai to get the essence of the dialogues.”

Post that we heard that Prasoon Joshi was roped in to write the dialogues. And we thought the aforementioned issue was amicably sorted. But guess it wasn’t so.

According to the latest goss doing rounds, Sasha has been chucked from the movie and now Ali is all set to step into the role of the lead actor. Ouch! Is the writer-fiasco to be blamed for it? We’re not sure.

While confirmations regarding the star-cast of Vettai-remake are awaited, the actors remain mum about these controversial developments. Ali Zafar diplomatically tackles the probes saying he will be seen in an action movie but nothing has been finalised yet. Sigh!

If these rumours turn out to be true then Shahid’s partially-full plate will  go back to its old status of being plain empty. Tch tch! And that would really be sad, no?
