Shahid Kapoor takes off on a 10-day holiday

The Mausam actor is off to Europe for a vacation after five long years

Shahid Kapoor has finally taken a break from films and from his hectic life in Mumbai. The actor, who had been waiting for a holiday, has now taken off to Europe for a week-long holiday with some of his close buddies. Shahid has been a very busy man ever since daddy Pankaj Kapur discussed the idea of making Mausam with him. And even though the film tanked at the box office, it does not take away from the fact that Shahid gave his all as an actor and son for over two years. The actor had been involved in every department of the film, from the scripting stage to post-production work. And even after the film was complete, he was busy with the endless promotional activities. In between this, the actor has been in the middle of several of link-ups and controversies including his rumoured relationships with Bipasha Basu and Anushka Sharma, and his Twitter war with trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Then the rumour mills were abuzz with speculation that Shahid was creating enemies in B-Town by unfriending Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra on the social networking site. After all this hectic activity, a break was definitely well deserved! “Off for a 10 day break with the boyz to Europe my 1st real holiday in 5 yrs I think … The idea is to completely loooooose it !!!!!!,” Shahid posted on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Well, let’s hope he doesn’t actually completely lose it or very soon we will have some new rumours floating around once he’s back!Subscribe to me on YouTube

I am of the opinion that actors and actresses lives are public as it is, why is it necessary to trouble or debase them by publicising their personal lives too? They are entitled to their privacy. Or is it decreed that, because they are in their chosen profession, we have a right to pry into their personal lives and not leave them a quantum of space to lead let alone enjoy ordinary private lives??? Yes, their performances are public, if they get married it could [with everyone's permission] be publicised, but whom they get with and don’t get with is a very personal thing and shouldn’t be hung out to dry like dirty laundry.
