Shahrukh eyeing the National Award?

The actor might just star in the remake of a Malayalam movie that won its lead actor the Best Actor Award

Shahrukh Khan has won almost every award that exists in the country – you name it, and he has won it. The only one that has still eluded him is the National Film Award. Everyone from Ajay Devgn to even Arjun Rampal has won it for acting except the Badshah himself. However, now it seems that Shahrukh is getting ready to change that. The buzz in the industry is that King Khan’s best buddy Karan Johar has bought the rights to remake the Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu in Hindi. Shahrukh will apparently play the lead role of a guy who saves his meagre earnings to go on a pilgrimage to Haj. It’s not just the powerful character that had us thinking about Shahrukh’s plans. Rather, it is the fact that Salim Kumar, who played the character in the Malayalam version, won the National Film Award for Best Actor this year. And with KJo producing it and retaining Adaminte director Salim Ahmed to direct the Hindi version, it seems Shahrukh might finally see his dream coming true. We just hope his plans don’t go awry the way they went with the last time he remade a Malayalam movie. Remember the drubbing he got for remaking Katha Parayumbol as Billu? Perhaps Karan’s association with this project will prevent that from happening. All we can say is, good luck Shahrukh.
