The annual music awards show saw industry bigwigs croon, swing and shake some major leg!

The third installment of the Global Indian Music Awards in Mumbai was a complete blast, where some of the biggest and freshest names gathered to celebrate music. The show was hosted by Saif Ali Khan and Parineeti Chopra – quite an unlikely pair, wethought!

The best part of the night was a tribute to AR Rahman – the Mozart of Madras completed two decades in the music industry. The Oscar-winning composer was felicitated by legendary director Yash Chopra, while his fellow musicians, including Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Hariharan and Mohit Chauhan performed a cute little medley of popular Rahman tracks from ‘Dil hai chota sa’ to ‘Jai ho’. An ecstatic Rahman was as humble as always and thanked everyone for taking him on a nostalgic joyride!

Among the performers, Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi were seen crackling like livewires, promoting their upcoming film Son of Sardar in Shahrukh Khan territory, while Parineeti Chopra flashed some wicked moves, looking slimmer and fitter than she has in many of her earlier appearances.

Other winners included Sonu Nigam (thankfully not a complete fashion disaster this time!), Mohit Chauhan, Bappi Lahiri, Alka Yagnik, Babul Supriyo, Karsh Kale and Mika, among others.
