For his contribution to the Indian film industry, Shahrukh Khan has been honoured with the Brand Laureate Legendary Award by Asia Pacific Brands Foundation. The 47-year-old actor expressed his gratitude when the prestigious award was handed to him by Robert Loh, Founder of Lord’s Tailor, KK Johan, President of The Brand Laureate and Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohammad, the Malaysian Prime Minister.

“It is an honour to be given the Brand Laureate Legendary Award. It is always a pleasure to be amongst friends and to be given so much love and motivation to do better,” said the Jab Tak Hai Jaan star on receiving the recognition.

King Khan also took to twitter to tell his fans about the appreciation he received from the Far East Asian country. “Got honoured at Dr Mahathirs function & a beautiful digital Koran. Now to India. Way I travel I could be the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy,” tweeted the baadshah of Bollywood.

The Brand Laureate Legendary Award has been conferred upon on stalwarts like Dr Nelson Mandela, Nobel Laureate recipient Mohammad Yunus, Ratan Tata, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerburg and Michael Schumacher in the past.

It is quite interesting to note that SRK was the first Indian actor to be conferred with the prestigious Malaysian title of Datuk in 2008. And now the king of romance has made India proud once again!
