Bollywood stars pay their last respects to the veteran filmmaker

B-town was in for a shock yesterday as the news of the death of veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra broke out. Several stars immediately made their way to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai where Chopra was admitted after being diagnosed with dengue. Shahrukh Khan, who has always considered Yash Chopra a father figure, was one of the first ones to arrive. We hear he even left the hospital in Chopra’s ambulance after taking care of all the formalities.

Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, who were very close to Chopra also quickly reached the hospital.  The others who rushed to pay their last respects to the producer-director include Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Gauri Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Urmila Matondkar, Nitin Mukesh, Madhur Bhandarkar, Tisca Chopra, Sakshi Tanwar, Kunal Kohli, Twinkle and Rinkie Khanna, along with mom Dimple Kapadia, Ramesh Sippy and wife Kiran Juneja.

Chopra will be cremated at 3pm this evening at the Chandanwadi crematorium in Mumbai. “From 9amM to 12 noon people can come in at the Yash Raj Films studio in suburban Andheri to pay their condolences. He (Chopra) will be cremated at 3pm at Chandan Wadi,” a YRF spokesperson said.
