Does Rajinikanth’s Chitti have anything to do with this?
There’s been a lot of buzz about Krrish 3 in the past few weeks – from its name and its cast to its costumes and its sequel. But it’s what we’ve heard just now that’s excited us the most. Shahrukh Khan has agreed to do a cameo in Krrish 3! Yes, the actor will be seen in Hrithik Roshan’s superhero flick, but only if all goes as planned.
Since Shahrukh is busy shooting for Yash Chopra’s directorial venture, his dates are booked for the next couple of months. Krrish 3’s shoot will have to be wrapped up soon as the film requires extensive post-production work. It has already been delayed due to Hrithik’s injuries and the time it took to find the right female actor to play the mutant (the role finally went to Kangna Ranaut). According to the grapevine, the Roshans are looking at a January 2013 release. However, Hrithik and SRK have already met and discussed the role and, from what we hear, the King Khan is eager to do it. After all, Hrithik flew all the way from Spain – where he was shooting for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara at the time – to London for his cameo appearance in Don 2. The two have been friends ever since their Karan Arjun days and Shahrukh will definitely return the favour.
But more than just returning the favour, what wethink Shahrukh will actually be doing is passing along a good deed. Especially if this cameo sees him in his G.One avatar. Insiders claim that there is a strong possibility that Shahrukh will don the suit he wore in his ill-fated RA.One yet again for Krrish 3. The film is close to SRK’s heart and he has said several times that he wants to take the franchise forward with sequels. More important than that though is the striking resemblance this cameo has to the one in his own film. Remember how RA.One had a guest appearance by Rajinikanth in his Chitti avatar? That one-minute stint took the film to a different level altogether. Rajini earned a lot of goodwill by agreeing to do the cameo despite being unwell. Shahrukh will find it very difficult to return that favour, but he can pass it along to Hrithik by doing a similar act in Krrish 3. Hrithik may then pass it along to the next B-town director who attempts a sci-fi flick. You know what they say about good deeds – they make Bollywood go around.
