Sharman Joshi: A film does not have to give message all the time

The Ferrari Ki Sawaari actor is getting positive reviews for his portrayal of a sensitive and responsible father in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra production. Sharman says he would like to work in complete entertainers in the future

He played a cute and an honest dad in his recently released film Ferrari Ki Sawaari and Sharman Joshi won us over with his delectable performance. The actor had struck an emotional chord with audiences as the vulnerable Raju Rastogi in Rajkumar Hirani’s blockbuster film 3 Idiots. But in spite of being an integral part of successful projects, Sharman had to struggle to bag his first solo film. Ferrai Ki Sawaari have him that opportunity and he did full justice to his role. Is Sharman eying only solo projects now? We wonder.

The 36-year-old actor firmly believes that it is shallow to look at assignments as solo films or ensemble acts. He says it’s the script that excites him. “I believe in complete entertainers. A film does not have to give message all the time. I am going to work across all genres including absolute entertainers, action films. I am going to strive to work in all possible genres. I am going to keep it exciting for myself and audience,” said the talented actor in an interview.

We hope that B-town directors have woken up to Sharman’s talent after his power-packed performance in Ferrari Ki Sawaari and good scripts will be written keeping him in mind.
