Shatrughan Sinha undergoes bypass surgery in Mumbai

The veteran actor and BJP leader was operated upon at a hospital in Mumbai on Monday

On July 2, Shatrughan Sinha complained of breathlessness due to some paint work at his Mumbai residence. Later, he was admitted to Kokilaben hospital in suburban Andheri where doctors diagnosed blockage in his coronary arteries. Further investigations demanded an immediate surgery. The 66-year-old actor-turned politician was operated upon by cardiac surgeon Dr Anvay Muley. “He (Sinha) is fine now and on the road to a speedy recovery. He has thanked all his well wishers for their unconditional love and support,” Dr Ram Narain, COO of Kokilaben Hospital said. Dr Narain has also said that following the surgery, Sinha will continue to stay there for a few days.

The Shotgun Sinha made his Bollywood debut in Sajan (1969) and went on to act in over 200 movies. He‘s also acted in Bengali and Punjabi films. Sinha rose to fame with his unforgettable roles in films like Kalicharan, Vishwanath, Blackmail, Dostana, Shaan and Kala Patthar.
