She replaces Kajal Aggarwal for the coveted role
Shruti Haasan has charmed the whole of India, it seems. She is equally popular in Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood. No wonder then that she has been chosen to play the female lead in the Telugu remake of Bollywood super hit Dabangg. While Pawan Kalyan will essay the role Salman Khan did in the original, Shruti will play Sonakshi Sinha’s role in this remake, titled Gabbar Singh.
Kajal Aggarwal had earlier been approached for the same role, but she had to decline the offer due to date issues. Shruti has now bagged the role. Kamal Haasan’s daughter has already established herself in Tollywood with Anaganaga O Dheerudu. She is working on two other Telugu projects: an untitled Boyapati Sreenu project with Jr NTR and the Siddharth starrer, O My Friend. She is also busy with her Tamil movie, 7am Arivu, opposite Suriya.
