The South star’s pregnancy and delivery will be part of her forthcoming Malayalam movie: Kalimannu
Miss India 1994 runner up Shweta Menon, who rose to fame with the famous Kamasutra condom advertisement, will shock her fans once again. Recently the South star delivered her first child – a baby girl – in Mumbai, and the entire process of childbirth was caught on camera. But it’s not for a keepsake for the happy new family.
Shweta’s initial months of pregnancy, the delivery and her first few months of motherhood will be a part of Kalimannu, a Malayalam movie directed by Blessy. The film focuses on a mother’s relationship with her baby before and after it is born.
Obviously the filmmaker took necessary permissions from the hospital authorities before the shoot. Shweta’s husband Sreevalsan Menon, director Blessy and two cameramen caught the action as it happened.
So why did Shweta agree to have the process filmed, every reaction while giving birth to her first child caught by the lens? In an interview to a leading newspaper, the South actor said: “I decided to do this because of the message the movie carries. From conception to delivery, it has been a great experience. I was determined to give a natural birth.”
