SON OF SARDAAR Raja rani song: Sonakshi Sinha is Ajay Devgn’s Madhubala

Watch the catchy new song from director Ashwani Dhir’s Diwali release

The Ajay Devgn-Sanjay Dutt starrer Son Of Sardaar seems to be set in some bygone time, if the latest song from the film to be released is anything to judge by. It is not that the song isn’t catchy, but it has been shot very tackily. The production values resemble those of movies shot in an era long past.

Composed by Himesh Reshammiya, Raja rani is a catchy number sung by Mika, Bhavya Pandit and YO YO Honey Singh. We jigged and bopped happily along with its beats…and then we saw the set. It reeks of a been-there-done-that smell – perhaps the makers were running short on money? perhaps there is more to it that we can see, and that we could discover when we watch the film this Diwali. For now, you take a look at this ditty featuring Devgn and his Madhubala (as she is called in the song), Sonakshi Sinha. And do tell us what you think!
