The Tamil superstar has completed four decades in the film industry
On 18 August, 1975, K Balachander introduced a young talent into Tamil cinema with his film Apoorva Raagangal. The film gave an entry to a stylish young man, who later on went on to conquer the hearts of millions. And on August 18, 2014, Shivaji Rao Gaekwad aka Rajinikanth has completed four decades in acting, providing invaluable contribution to Indian cinema.
As the quintessential style icon was busy engrossed in shooting for KS Ravikumar’s Lingaa, the cast and crew along with Rajini’s heroine Sonakshi Sinha surprised the Thalaiva as they cut the cake to celebrate this extraordinary achievement from the superstar. The Dabangg gal posted a picture of the cake on Twitter saying,” 40 years of entertaining ppl like a boss! I was just part of a historic celebration! Congrats @SuperstarRajini sir!”
The Kochadaiiyaan actor had to face a lot of hardship in initial years, when he started off as an antagonist. Other than his onscreen charisma, his off screen humility and down to earth nature is the main reason behind his extreme popularity. While we, Rajini fans, savour the occasion, we hope the veteran actor continues to entertain us for decades to come.
