After proving her mettle in Bollywood, the Dabangg babe is all set to make her entry in South cinema
Actors who aren’t getting good film offers in Bollywood often moved down South in the hope of cementing a career in Kollywood and Tollywood. And that trend was made passé by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was the most high profiled B-town star to expand her reach with regional cinema, even as she had a strong career going for herself in Hindi movies. And then many heroines followed suit; the latest it seems is Sonakshi Sinha who has taken a leaf out of Ash’s career moves. The Dabangg babe is all set to make her debut in Telugu cinema opposite Mahesh Babu in Sivam.
The big budget movie, to be produced by Ashwini Dutt and directed by Krish, will go on floors by mid-2013. Though there has been no official confirmation, our trusted sources say that Sona has indeed signed on the dotted line.
With a slew of Rs 100 crore hits like Rowdy Rathore and Son of Sardaar, will Sonakshi continue ruling the roost in South too. Looks like Ms Sinha really hit the jackpot in her debut itself. Starting a career in South opposite the King of Tollywood is indeed a big opportunity, no? We wish her all the very best for a rocking debut!
