And our eyebrows danced at this piece of gossip ‘coz hey, wasn’t Mr Kapoor miffed at the fashion diva for bitching about his son Ranbir Kapoor on national television?
Last heard, Rishi Kapoor couldn’t help frowning at the comments Sonam Kapoor made about his darling son Ranbir Kapoor’s Casanova-ish status. The veteran actor even lashed out at Sonam and Deepika Padukone after people started talking about the unfortunate incident in Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan. Rishi Kapoor said, “It just shows their (Deepika and Sonam) class. I would like to tell them to stop giggling all the time and behave maturely. They are there on the show because they are their father’s daughters and not because of their work! I would advise them to stop talking about their colleagues and running them down.” Nasty, wasn’t it?
So the news about the two sharing a loving father-daughter relationship in Yash Raj Films’ next is indeed surprising, no? What’s more, birdies chirp that Rishi Kapoor plays the role of a bureaucrat father named VK Sehgal who puts his daughter’s lover – a role played by Ayushmann Khurrana – through a number of tests to ensure that he’s the best lad for his beti.
But as far as Sonam’s relationship with her onscreen father is concerned, honestly, we haven’t really heard much. But we assume (and quite confidently) that Chintu ji wouldn’t find it hard to enact the scenes where he is supposedly miffed with Sonam, ‘coz he has enough real life inspiration for that one. Right, Mr Kapoor?
