The Bhaag Milkha Bhaag star was the first choice for Deepika Padukone’s role of Angie in the film
Looks like Deepika Padukone has aced the game of garnering roles passed on to her by other actors. First it was Kareena Kapoor’s no-o to Ram-Leela and now Sonam Kapoor has joined the club. The actor was reportedly the first choice to play Angie in Finding Fanny.
While talking to a popular tabloid, director Homi Adajania stated, “We had spoken to Sonam, considered many combinations, but things didn’t work out. I didn’t know Deepika (Padukone) before Cocktail, but during the making we developed an amazing synergy. When I narrated this story to her, she immediately told me she was ready for Angie. (Laughs). Ditto Arjun, who I thought was perfect for Savio, this brooding guy who finds it difficult to express his inner angst.”
He further added that the idea of the film came to him when he was reading an article on a postman who collected the letters, got home, would dump them in the room and start sipping wine and watching TV after finishing.
The film releases in September 2012
