Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety quick movie review: Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha’s film has laughs galore in the first half

After the super success of the Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise, the makers are back with the hit trio of Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh for Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. The trailer managed to impress a major set of people, who are looking forward to the film, which releases tomorrow (February 23). Our film critic, Rajat Tripathi is watching the movie at a press show right now. He has sent the first impression of the movie.

Rajat says, “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety starts with the typical Luv Ranjan style approach – a little girlfriend bashing with a side of not taking any responsibility. We are introduced to BFFs Sonu and Titu played by Kartik Aaryan and Sunny Singh respectively. What do I say about their friendship? Imagine if Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji were replaced by two men and then they sang a hip hop version of Piya Piya, that would be this pair. Then there is also the family that is no less than the one in Hum Saath Saath Hain. Though here we have a lying, manipulative, smoking and drinking Alok Nath. Nushrat Bharucha plays your typical ideal Indian girl! ALSO READ: Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety trailer: It’s bromance vs romance between Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha for Sunny Singh

The film spends the entire first half in just setting the premise. Just 10 seconds before the interval is when the story we came to see actually takes off. Not that the first half is any boring, but it has ended on an even promising note. I am extremely excited to see what happens next. I have a couple of theories in mind as to how the next half will pan out after the twist, but I am hoping to be surprised. Who wants to watch a predictable film?

There are plenty of laughs that will keep tickling you throughout the first half. Oh yeah… the first half of the movie has more beeps than the first five seasons of Roadies combined.”
