The Dabangg actor chooses popular South Indian song Appadi Podu for his first production Lucky Unlucky
The famous song Appadi podu from the film Ghilli has become a metaphor for South Indian music, pan India. And cashing in on the popularity of the song is actor Sonu Sood, who is all set to transform this number into a groovy Bollywood track. Apparently the Dabangg actor got smitten by this tune, which he first heard while shooting for Osthi (the Tamil remake of Dabangg). Without wasting much time Mr Sood bought the rights to make a Hindi version of the song and he will be using it in the very first home production, Lucky Unlucky. He has also roped in the queen of item numbers Mallika Sherawat for shaking a leg with with him in the song. Our sources reveal that Vidyasagar, who originally composed the song is now working on its Hindi version. The lyrics are currently being penned and Sunidhi Chauhan and Mika will record it sometime soon. This fast paced number will be shot in a grand set, to be erected at a popular studio. “I totally loved the original track and immediately decided to take it to the Bollywood audience. I am sure they will love it. Apart from Hindi lines, we all also retain some parts of the Tamil version,” says Sonu. Well Sonu, we are totally looking forward for this foot tapping number to make a theatrical entry in B-town.
